Thousands Gather for Puerto Rico Comic Con 2026
Dressed as superheroes, thousands of fans gather at Puerto Rico Comic Con San Juan, Apr 3 (EFE) - Thousands of pop culture fans flocked to Puerto Rico Comic Con 2026 on Friday, dressed as their favorite superheroes and other characters from film, television, anime and video games. The three-day event is expected to draw more than 50,000 people.Panels and conferences with international guests, hundreds of exhibitors, interactive experiences, competitions, cosplay exhibitions, exclusive merchandise sales and collectibles are some of the event's attractions.
Celebrity Guests and Fan Experiences
The most relevant special guest of this edition is the British actor Jamie Campbell Bower, known for the series 'Stranger Things' and the 'Harry Potter' and 'Twilight' film sagas. A crowd lined up today at the Puerto Rico Convention Center to take a picture with the actor or get an autograph. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Ron Perlman, famous for starring in the 'Hellboy' film saga; Sean Schemmel, who for decades has voiced Goku in the English version of 'Dragon Ball Z'; and Vivienne Medrano, animator and illustrator who created the hit animated series 'Hazbin Hotel'.
Showcasing Local Talent and New Additions
This year, the event also brings the new Superhero Fest 2026, a festival that takes Puerto Rican comics from paper to the big screen through short films inspired by the works of local artists. Puerto Rico Comic Con also serves as a platform for the island's creative community with the participation of more than 450 exhibitors, artists, illustrators, and local comic book creators, among others.
Cosplay and Cultural Impact
As usual, the traditional Cosplay Showcase is expected to be one of the most anticipated moments of the event, bringing together participants who present elaborate costumes inspired by pop culture characters. Ricardo Carrión, founder and executive producer of Puerto Rico Comic Con, highlighted that the enthusiasm for this event is "testimony to the growth of pop culture as a cultural and economic phenomenon."
