Advertising Policy

Overview

New Yorker Herald is funded in part by advertising. This policy explains the types of advertising we accept, how we manage the relationship between advertising and editorial content, and our standards for the ads that appear on our platform.

Separation of Advertising and Editorial

Advertising and editorial content are strictly separated. Advertisers have no influence over the content, framing, or publication of any editorial material. All advertising is clearly labelled to distinguish it from editorial content.

Types of Advertising

  • Display Advertising: Banner and display ads served through third-party networks such as Google AdSense and other programmatic platforms.
  • Sponsored Content: Articles or content produced in partnership with an advertiser. These are always clearly labelled as "Sponsored" or "Paid Partnership" and are produced separately from our editorial journalists.
  • Affiliate Links: Links within articles that may earn New Yorker Herald a commission if a reader makes a purchase. These are disclosed within the article where applicable.

Advertising Standards

We do not accept advertising that:

  • Is misleading, deceptive, or makes false claims
  • Promotes illegal products or services
  • Contains hate speech, discrimination, or offensive content
  • Targets vulnerable groups inappropriately
  • Conflicts with our editorial values or reputation

Third-Party Ad Networks

We use third-party advertising networks to serve ads on our site. These networks may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve targeted advertising. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information on how data is collected and used.
